3 Things to Know

Tips & Reminders About What We’re Doing Here

#1 Over-prepare for Week 1

Do evertything you can to “over-prepare” for your first session. Learn names, complete the lesson, show hospitality, and develop your session plan. We provide all the tools you need.

Why over-prepare? Getting your group off to a strong start will help your participants feel at ease. Set the culture early.

As folks return the following week, watch it pay off in future sessions.

#2 No teaching.

We made it easy. The lessons are available for each participant to complete before their group session. No need to teach or present slides. In fact, no financial expertise is required to lead a 6 Weeks on Money small group.

All you need to do is prepare to lead a discussion. Help people feel comfortable sharing. Watch what happens when you create a space to talk about the things that matter most.

Hint: It’s not really about money. It’s about the most important things in life - faith, community, generosity, and family.

#3 Go on the journey.

Everyone has something to learn about money because everyone has more to learn about themselves and their values.

Whether you’re in your 30’s or 60’s, dive into the course content as a learner first, leader second. Open your heart and mind to the possibilities.

It’s all an invitation to grow, and we can’t lead people where we aren’t willing to go ourselves. Leaders go first.

Leader FAQ’s

  • Participants enroll in the 6 Weeks on Money course and complete lessons prior to the group discussion.

  • No teaching or presenting is required. In fact, no need to “play the lessons” (audio or video) during group time. Group time is valuable; keep it focused on conversation and connecting.

  • Yes. Share your highs and lows from your life. Hearing “me too” can bring healing to our lives. Hearing best practices and what others are doing can feel encouraging.

  • We invite leaders to be learners first. Ask your church for discount codes or scholarships, which can be purchased on this site.

  • Nothing. Many groups experience joy when talking about money. Talking about money can feel refreshing, honest, and encouraging. Great work!
